MEMBANGUN KARAKTER DENGAN KEPEMIMPINAN BERBASIS NILAI

Education is the primary pillar in building a nation. Without quality education, progress will not be achieved. Education serves not only to transfer knowledge but also to shape character, strengthen morals, and enhance the spiritual depth of students. In the context of Islamic education, religious values become the primary foundation that guides students to pursue not only intellectual intelligence but also devotion to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala.

Throughout its long journey, Islamic education has faced various challenges. One of them is how to build and manage educational institutions that produce not only intelligent individuals but also those with souls sensitive to the environment, noble character, and readiness to face global challenges. Islamic educational institutions, such as Thursina IIBS, have a strategic role in shaping the character of the nation's next generation—those who are not only intellectually bright but also possess a strong moral compass. As institutions that must prioritize Islamic education, they play a very vital role in this regard.

However, to achieve this, more than just good knowledge or a curriculum is required. One of the most crucial factors is the quality of leadership within the educational institution. Effective leadership requires not only managerial and administrative skills but also a reliance on solid moral and spiritual principles. An educational leader must be a role model in religious practice and ethics. This applies not only to the leaders of educational institutions, such as principals or rectors, but also to every element within them, including teachers and other educational staff.

An effective educational leader must be a spiritual leader capable of guiding and motivating followers to work with full sincerity and dedication. One thing that needs to be noted is that every human being involved, whether educators or students, must undergo a process of spiritual Mi'raj. This process refers to improving the spiritual quality of the individual, which becomes the primary foundation for achieving success in education.

This Mi'raj process is not limited to ritual worship alone, such as prayer or fasting. More than that, it is an effort to build a higher self-awareness, making individuals more sensitive to the values of truth, justice, and kindness. In Surah Al-Layl, Allah describes that those who are pious, generous, and believe in future goodness will have their paths eased by Him. This principle must be applied in every aspect of educational institutions, especially by teachers as educators who have a close relationship with students.

With a strong relationship with Allah, an educator will have an inner depth that can be felt by the students. When an educator possesses sincerity in teaching and providing guidance, the educational process will become more meaningful. Conversely, if an educator only focuses on mundane worldly aspects, it is easy to lose direction. This does not mean we live without effort or clear goals, but rather adheres to the principle that everything done with sincerity and full heart will be eased by Allah. This principle is also reflected in the management of educational institutions.

Surah Al-Layl teaches that those who possess piety, generosity, and faith in future goodness will have their paths eased by Allah. This principle is highly relevant in the management of educational institutions. Leadership that prioritizes ease and sincerity will bring about positive change, not only for the institution but also for the students within it. Wallahu a'lam bish-shawab.
